On a recent trip to Salt Lake City, Utah and a visit to the LDS Archives there, our cousin Larry Price found copies of many documents pertaining to our family. He found Jacob's Birth Certificate. Of course all the documents are in German. The archivist helped Larry translate what he had found. What he has discovered opens many doors/lines of information previously closed to us. For Example, our GG Grandfather Jacob Conrad Edelman didn't just change his last name by dropping the second 'n' (it was originally Edelmann), but he changed/rearranged pretty much his whole name. He was born Johann Jacob Edelmann. He changed it (at what point we don't yet know) to Jacob Conrad Edelman. His mother and Grandmother's maiden names were Conrad. Larry found copies of public records that confirm he is in fact our ancestor. We will be making changes to the Edelman(n) genealogy report on this site to reflect the new information very soon. The data as we have it is accurate back to the date he left Germany for America. We will show changed or added data to enhance the accuracy of our online report and to the detailed Edelman(n) history book we are currently in the process of producing about this particular Edelman(n) lineage. If you would like to have more info or become involved in translation or help with whatever, drop a note to WebMaster@Edelman-RP.com. We are very excited about all this, have a great day and happy hunting. |
