About Us The Edelman(n) Genealogy Project is loosely comprised of a dedicated group of private genealogy researchers whose research is directed primarily to researching the Edelman(n) Surname (and it's derivative spellings), but not exclusively so. The Edelman(n) Genealogy Project displays data about selected branches of the Family Tree (Reports). A Surname list can be found by accessing the Surname page. Every attempt has been made to assure the reports contain only non-living individuals. Should you find an erroneous listing or a listing which includes a living person or persons, please notify us so we can make an appropriate update to the files. Currently, we are concentrating on research of the Edelman(n) and Jackson lineages.
In particular, one of the research blocks in the
Edelman(n)
tree we kept running into was in finding the
exact details on Jacob C. Edelmann's entry
into the USA. It was supposed to be in 1847. There are history books and
other records that appear to confirm this. However, for some
time we were unable to find specific records
(such as naturalization or immigration papers) to substantiate details about his
arrival in the United States. In addition, we couldn't find detailed information on who he arrived with. In addition, we have decided to expand the data file to see how other families relate to the Edelman(n) line regardless of the reason for the connection. This does not, however, change our primary goal of researching the Edelman(n) primary line thereby researching the Edelman(n) tree farther back in time.
On The Edelman(n)
Genealogy Project site you can find
photos
of Jacob and the family (circa 1917-18). There are two
obituaries
about him, an excerpt from his will as well as an excerpt from a West Virginia
history book that lists legislators of his time (Prominent Men of West
Virginia). We have included anecdotal information and the online
tree is cut off at the generation before the first currently living
Edelman(n)
is listed. This site has a policy on privacy, please take a minute and review it. | Top | |
